2018 consultation comments
The proposals in this current application are identical to those submitted in 2018.
Local residents were consulted as part of the previous application process and below is a summary of the key concerns raised by them.
The development will result in the loss of the previously undeveloped land/ open space located to the south of Woodlands Close
This area of grassland is not public open space. Although the view from the three properties which overlook the field will change, there will be no impact on views from the other 17 properties in Woodlands Close. The proposals include new public open space accessible to all residents.
There will be additional traffic using the access road from Bletchingley Road through the existing residential development at Woodlands Close
The access road will be assessed by Surrey County Council Highways to ensure it is fit for purpose and meets all necessary highway safety requirements.
Use of Woodlands Close by construction traffic and the potential for damage to be incurred to the road surface
There will inevitably be a certain degree of disruption during the construction phase. Working hour conditions and a considerate contractor will help to mitigate this. Any damage to existing surfaces will be repaired.
Loss of light incurred by existing properties by the new development
Only three existing properties have windows facing the proposed development. These are all in excess of 10m from the new homes and therefore their natural light will not be adversely impacted.
