The next phase of Woodlands Close

Following the successful creation of Woodlands Close and the completion of 20 new homes in 2016 we are now pleased to be able to start the process to deliver the next phase of development on the open land to the south.

Our previous planning application, submitted in 2018, was rejected because the Council felt they did not need to increase the supply of new homes in the Borough at that time. A summary of residents' comments on this application can be seen here.

This site is one of 11 urban extension sites that were removed from the Green Belt by the Council in 2019 to provide land for more than 1,200 new homes. Over 420 of these homes will be designated as “affordable" (subsidised by the developers) to allow those on lower incomes to afford a decent place to live in an otherwise unaffordable housing market. These developments will go some way towards alleviating the housing crisis in the Borough, particularly as there is a serious shortage of new homes planned over the next 5 to 6 years.

Please take a look at our proposals for the site and give us your comments so that we can take on board local residents' views as we progress the planning application with the Council.
